Every performance is an act of surrender —
a giving of oneself to the moment.

21 Dec 2019 — Dancewalk
Performed at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore, India.
The Dancewalk creates a new choreographic relationship between dance, duration and space, by stretching them to the extreme — considering time in terms of several hours, and space in terms of multiple kilometers. It gives dance a geographic dimension, with movements trackable on a map via GPS. The form draws parallels to Monty Python’s “silly walks,” conceptual walking performances, Land Art, flash mobs, and postmodern dance approaches, yet remains its own distinct fusion of dancing and walking.
